Well, this is a first…

This is the first blog post I've ever written. It happens to be on the first webpage I've ever built. And it's all because I'm proud of Strangeways, the first novel I've ever published.

And let me stress the "I've published" portion of that sentence. I thought amassing 70,000+ words into a cohesive, interesting story meant I was almost at the end of the tunnel. Turns out that light I saw was actually the glow from a hundred YouTube videos teaching me about things like WordPress and landing-pages and perma-free and opt-in. Typing "The End" did not actually mark the end of hard work.

I think what I'm going to do with this blog is to try to "pay it forward" to other would-be writers. I've learned the most from other people who gave an unvarnished look at the processes involved with bringing a first novel to market. So that's what I'll will try to emulate. From the writing, which had its own circuitous route, to making the website, and the adventure of connecting with readers, for both the book and the blog.

I hope you'll enjoy and benefit from this. Let me know. And welcome!

I love the main character Thomas Griffin, he reminds me of a Tom Griffin I knew back in high school 😏. Great read and I honestly look forward to your next book!

Thanks Jeff! I’m so glad you liked it. Thanks for taking a chance on it, and thanks for the feedback!
